BUT...HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN A LANGUAGE?

Your journey to language mastery depends on factors like your native and target languages, prior experience, age, motivation, study time, language learning aptitude and linguistic background. In our fast-paced world, instant gratification is common, but real language proficiency takes time.

Research by the Cambridge University and our decades of experience show it takes 400 to 2200 hours of study plus plenty of practice to reach high proficiency.

At Romance Language Centre, we won’t promise you quick fixes. Real language learning takes time and effort. Our approach focuses on retention, accuracy and independence, not unrealistic promises. Beware of “Learn a language in 6 months” schemes—they often hinder long-term progress. We see many students who fall for these shortcuts. Remember, the best things in life take time. Romance Language Centre’s courses are structured using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL), internationally recognized framework used to structure study content. This allows for structure and systematization in language learning based on the natural, gradual development of linguistic competencies, from basic to mastery.
